Fans wanting to catch a glimpse of Ryder Cup golf will have the opportunity to do so this weekend with Mystic Creek Golf Club hosting the final day of the ArkLaCup.

The event pits members from Mystic Creek against Calvert Crossing Golf Club, which is located in Calhoun, Louisiana.

This is the third year of the event with Arkansas looking to stay undefeated after winning the first two.

“It’s our most popular member tournament of the year,” said Mystic Creek PGA Head Golf Professional Dillon Malcolmson. “It’s open to Mystic Creek golf club members only. It’s our exclusive member event, and it fills up very quickly. We really like it. We look forward to it all year long.”

The event begins on Saturday with Calvert Crossing hosting the team events.

Malcolmson said the first team event is a modified alternate shot, while four ball will be used for the second.

After playing 36 holes on Saturday, the teams will finish play on Sunday with the singles matches taking place at Mystic Creek.

Winning the first two years has been a great source of pride for the members at Mystic Creek.

“Absolutely,” Malcolmson said. “We have a lot of pride for winning the last couple of years. They have some really good golfers down there, but we were able to close them out. It’s definitely a source of pride for us.”

Malcolmson added that fans are welcome to come out and support the teams.

“We’d love to have them,” Malcolmson said.
