Beatles, Southern Soul, football on tap this weekend

James Owen will presents the “Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to the Beatles” and with the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, in the El Dorado Conference Center, 311 S. West Ave. El Dorado.

The four musicians in “Classical Mystery Tour” look and sound just like The Beatles, but “Classical Mystery Tour” is more than just a rock concert, according to a news release from the symphony. The show presents more than two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded.

“From early Beatles music on through the solo years, ‘Classical Mystery Tour’ is the best of The Beatles like you’ve never heard them before. You might say it’s the best show the Beatles never did,” Owen said.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for college and $5 for kids through 12-years old. Tickets may be purchased by calling the South Arkansas Symphony box office at 862-0521, in person at the South Arkansas Arts Center or El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, or by visiting SouthArkansasSymphony.org.

The South Arkansas Symphony’s Title Sponsor is First Financial Bank for the 2015-2016 season. Additional funding for the season has been provided in part by Presqu’ile Winery, The Arkansas Arts Council, The SHARE Foundation, Murphy USA and Southern Bancorp.
