Prayer vigil to be held Sunday

SMACKOVER – A Community Prayer Vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Hobgood Auditorium at Smackover High School.

In wake of the recent incident that happened at Norphlet Middle School, all community pastors and ministers, school officials, leaders and concerned citizens of Smackover and Norphlet are asked to come out and unite as a community and stand together against violence and threats of violence and to pray for the safety of the schools and communities.

Everyone is welcome to attend and participate.

Those participating on the program will include John Fletcher, Dr. Sterling Claypoole, Elder Freddie Evans and Sue Allen. Also attending and participating will be El Dorado Alderman Willie McGhee and Minister Earlene Burns, both members of the South Arkansas Stop the Violence Coalition and former graduates of Norphlet High School.
