Joe Watson Perritt, 78, of Somerville, Tenn., and a former resident of Union County, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Somerville with the Rev. Stan McDaniel officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery, with arrangements by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center of Somerville.
He was born Sept. 17, 1937 in Magnolia and received his education from the Mount Holly School System and was a 1960 graduate of United Electronics, where he studied electronics in Lexington, Ky. He was the retired manager of Somerville Mills Manufacturing and a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. Perritt and Levenia McWilliams Perritt; one son, Joe Allen Perritt; and his foster sister, Margaret Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Smith Perritt; two daughters, Lorraine Perritt Ross, and Marcia Perritt Miciak, both of Somerville; and two grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 202 S. East St., Somerville, TN 38068.
