The Union County Cooperative Extension Service is conducting a sewing workshop from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on June 9 in the extension conference room located in the Roberds Building at 307 American Road, Suite 101, in El Dorado, according to a news release from the cooperative extension service office.
A simple pair of shorts will be constructed, featuring an enclosed elastic casing at the waistline. A shorts pattern will be provided and a supply list will be mailed to participants.
A matching T-shirt will also be decorated for those who are interested. The class is limited to 10.
Instructors will be Lauren Brown, family and consumer sciences agent/4-H agent and Cynthia Ford, 4-H volunteer.
Cost of the workshop is $10 and is payable at the first class. Parents/guardians need to call the extension office at 864-1916 to make the reservations. This meeting is open to all youth between the ages of 9 and 13.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (large print, audiotapes and other devices) should notify the county extension office as soon as possible prior to the activity.
