In the Churches

• Union Arc Missionary Baptist Church (Dodge City): The annual Youth Day celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. The guest speaker will be Elder Joseph Waller of New Life Deliverance and Worship Center in El Dorado, and the master of ceremonies will be Anthony Thompson. Refreshments will be served. The church will also hold revival services at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The evangelist for the services will be the Rev. Anthony Traylor of Sweet Canaan Baptist Church of Smackover. Guest churches will be Union Arc Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, and Sweet Canaan Baptist Church on Thursday.

• Friendship Baptist Church: An appreciation service for Minister Sanders and Sister Sanders will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Special guests will be Elder Greg Hunter and the congregation of MaGhee Church of El Dorado. The public is invited to attend.

• Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Lockhart, La.): The annual Women’s Day program will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church. The guest speaker will be Elder Kathay Walter, pastor of Living for Jesus Ministries in Calion. All woman are asked to wear white.

• Beech Grove Baptist Church (Spearsville, La.): A “Family and Friends Pack-the-Pew” program will be held at 11 a.m. May 31 at the church, located at 779 Barnes Bridge Road. Special guests will be Ida Hart and HELPS Ministries of Farmerville, La.

• New Hope C.M.E. Church: Men and Women’s Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. May 31 at the church. Special guests will be the Rev. Robert Thomas and the congregation of First Baptist Church of Felsenthal. The master of ceremonies will be Troy Harter. The public is invited to attend.

• Jerusalem Quinn Baptist Church: The sixth appreciation service for the Rev. Stevie Vance and first lady Melinda Vance will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 643 Quinn Road. Special guests will be the Rev. Larry Hines and the congregation of Union Grove Baptist Church of Bluff City.

• St. Luke Baptist Church (Calion): Men and Women’s Day will be celebrated at 2:3o p.m. Sunday at the church. Special guests will be the Rev. Jerry Miller and the congregation of New Hope Baptist Church of Mt. Holly, and the master of ceremonies will be Deacon Donald Williams. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. All churches and pastors are invited to attend.

• New Providence Baptist Church (Norphlet): The annual Veterans’ Appeciation Day will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sunday during morning worship services at the church. Speakers will be Capt. Edward Lewis and Larry Tate. Lunch will be served after the morning service. The public is invited to attend.

• Mt. Superior M.B.C. (Magnolia): The fourth pastoral appreciation service honoring the Rev. Chris Garland and family will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Special guests will be the Rev. Felton Burgie and the congregation of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of El Dorado.

• Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church: The church, located at 3090 Parnell Road, will celebrate its 115h anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Special guests will be the Rev. Stanley Stigars and the congregation of Ebenezer Baptist Church. The public is invited to come out and “help us celebrate 115 years of teaching, preaching, and reaching out to souls in the name of Jesus.” Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m.

• Sunlight Church of God in Christ: A Friends and Family Program will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 525 Plum St. The guest speaker will be Elder Joe Mosley of the Holy Hill Church of God in Christ in Banks. The theme of the program will be “There’s No Secret What God Can Do.”

• Little Bethel Baptist Church: A Men and Women Day program will be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 3761 S. Jackson Road. Special guests will be Pastor Billy Miller and the congregation of Mt. Willie Baptist Church, and the master of ceremonies was Minister Casey Wade. The program will include various musical selections from the Mt. Willie Choir and others. Men are asked to wear black and women are asked to wear white. Refreshments will be served after the service.

• Living Word Ministry (Strong): A Youth Rally will be held at 6 p.m. May 29 at the church, located at 1009 Rear W. First St. Speakers will include Jennifer Fike and Aaron Billings.

• New Mount Union Baptist Church (Junction City): The annual Men and Women Day program will be presented at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church, located at 431 N. Pine St. Special guests will be the Rev. Donald Frazier and the congregation of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, Col. Lunch will be served.

• St. Andrews A.M.E. Church: Women’s Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. May 31 at the church, located at 100 10th St. The guest speaker will be Minister Gayle Williams, and dinner will be served. The public is invited to attend.

• New Beginnings Family Ministries: The fourth annual Gospel Fest will begin at 4:15 p.m. June 6 at the church, located at 1201 Marrable Hill Road. The event will feature Church Boyz (J2W and Young Deac), Miguel Mime, the Shutes Sisters, S.W.A.G., and many more, and according to a release from the church, “we are calling out to all soloists, praise dancers, musicians and choirs” to take part in this festival. Concessions will be available with “goodies and drinks,” and prizes will be given away to some lucky guests. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs in case the bleachers are filled to capacity. No ice chests, please.
