CAMILLE S. REUTZ

Camille Smith Reutz, 86, of Gahanna, Ohio, and formerly of El Dorado, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, after a brief illness.

Born July 31, 1928, in Gurdon, she was the daughter of Sam W. and Eula Mae Burns Smith. She married Harold F. Reutz on June 1, 1949, and they moved to Maryville, Tenn., for several years while Harold worked for Alcoa and Camille taught in a one-room schoolhouse. In 1956, they moved to Evansville, Ind., where they were active in the Methodist Temple and in the community making many lifelong friends.

In 1968, Harold took a job with Great Lakes Chemical and they moved to El Dorado where Camille taught and served as director of the kindergarten program at First United Methodist Church. She was also employed in the office at El Dorado High School.

Camille enjoyed working with children and loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also liked working in the yard, raking leaves, growing beautiful flowers, and playing bridge. She was active in First United Methodist Church for many years.

Camille is survived by two daughters, Susan Yang (Johann) of Westerville, Ohio, and Lynn Brown (Harlan) of Indianapolis, Ind. She is also survived by four grandsons, Jason Yang (Emily) of Jenks, Ohio, Jered Yang (Amanda) of Maumelle, Daniel Wilson (fiancée, Ashley Knapp) of Edgewater, Fla., and Brooks Wilson of Terre Haute, Ind.; along with seven great-grandchildren, and another expected in September.

Also surviving is a sister, Linda Smith Cross (Paul) of Little Rock.

Camille will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at First United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Keith Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the kindergarten program at First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Hill Ave., El Dorado, AR 71730.
