For the Weekend

The Quilted History will have a dinner on the grounds and trail ride beginning with line up at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and pull-out at 10 a.m. from the Junction City Park in Junction City. The destination for riders – horseback, wagons and buggies – will be 2277 Iron Mountain Road in El Dorado. The event will include wash-pot cracklins, lye soap, hay rides and frost famous tea cakes.

Chief scout for the ride will be Cletis Charles and trail boss will be Charles Phillips. Scouts will be Theodis Cornelious and Mack Bolton and wagon bosses will be Carolyn Williams, Zummie Law and Henry Rochell. All ages are welcome. The Debutante Association of El Dorado will host its annual Debutante Debut at 7 p.m. on Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Community Center, 1018 Wilson St., El Dorado. The theme for the event will be “Ascending Flowers in the Field Embracing Their Roots.” Guest speaker will be retired teacher of the El Dorado School District, Lillie Wainright. Tickets are $10. The Eighth Annual Antique Power Show will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday on the Union County Courthouse Square in downtown El Dorado.
