Spring is in swing: Get out and watch our music scene bloom

Acoustic favorite: Local musician Chris Loggins will be entertaining the crowd at PJ’s Coffee Saturday at 8 p.m. Loggins brings a bluesy, acoustic feel no matter where he plays, and adds to the mellow coffee-shop feel.

The flowers are blooming, the robins are flocking in full force and the spring showers are upon us.

With the coming of spring, outdoor acts and other great events are also kicking up, with the sunshine encouraging festivals and other great outdoor shows.

I’m excited about these next few weeks, because the spring fever is finally going to break and we’ll be on the verge of summer in no time.

This past week, I attended the Black and Gold Chapterl Bikers Against Child Abuse’s extravaganza, and the music and the company there was fantastic.

Next weekend, Crab Apple Bar out on Crab Apple Point will be offering live music from Cadillac Crumb and a bike run.

If we can get past the spring showers, we’re about to hit peak riding season and coincidentally, crawfish are in season too!

Next weekend is going to be a big one for our local venues, with big names swinging in to bring the party.

V.I.C., Mr. Wobble himself, will be out at Pandora’s next weekend, as will Dru Hill, performing at the Brick House.

I’ll have more pictures to come, but if you’re in the humdrums about the lull in the entertainment this weekend, check out Chris Loggins and mellow out at PJs on Saturday, and know that it is literally the calm before the party, because next week, El Dorado will be the party place to be in South Arkansas.

We have a lot coming up, and I’m excited to be a part of it! Have a great weekend, everyone!
