In town this weekend: Comedy, live music and more

This weekend: Comedian Keith Terry, who as performed around the state as well as at El Dorado’s MusicFest, will be at Marilyn’s Saturday beginning at 9 p.m. First Friday events at both Pandora’s Lounge and the Brick House will also be bringing in great acts, including Gorilla Zoe and Foxx A Mill, respectively.

I’m super excited to be seeing the First Friday events coming into our local venues.

It’s a welcome thing to have something to look forward to each month, and I love knowing that you can plan big party weekends around a particular time.

This weekend, First Friday shows are happening at both Pandora’s and at the Brick House.

At Pandora’s, Gorilla Zoe is going to be bringing the party tonight, starting at 10 p.m., and out at the Brick House, Foxx A Mill, my friend Yung Bran Smith and Hamma will be rocking the house.

The Brick House First Friday party is also going to be a mixtape release party for Foxx A Mill.

Saturday, Brick House is going to be hosting a Grown Folks Night Out, with Ghetto Cowboy and Summer Wolfe.

I’m super excited about this weekend too, because as it’s been said before, “Now for something completely different.”

Comedian Keith Terry, of Arkadelphia, will be performing at Marilyn’s on the Square.

Keith Terry has played 40-some venues around the country, has performed at MusicFest here, and now is coming downtown because of a great reception at our local event.

He recently toured along with Michael Buble, and I’m excited to see a whole separate type of entertainment coming to the downtown district.

Another great thing continuing this weekend, the Long Branch Karaoke Contest enters the third round, and though I don’t yet have results for the second round, Rickey Pate qualified on the first.

So, that’s two spots down and eight to go.

If you’re looking to compete for a $900 first place prize, be sure you’re up at the Long Branch Thursday nights for the next few weeks to secure your finalist position.

I love going and watching, because the talent that comes out for this is incredible. Even if you just want to have a good time and spectate, like I do, it’s worth the trip!

Also, mark your calendars for April 4. If you’re a 90s kid, like me, you aren’t going to want to miss Dru Hill at the Municipal Auditorium.

Special guests will include Cupid, LeBryant Crew and Nicky Parrish.

We’ve got big things coming, as we always do, and I’m excited about them.

It’s going to be a great weekend no matter what it is you get out and do, so, as always, be safe and have an absolute blast.
