RUBY L. FAUTHEREE

Ruby L. Fautheree, 101, of El Dorado, passed away peacefully in her sleep comfortably in her home on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

She was born in Union County near Lockhart, La., on April 23, 1913. She was the daughter of Benjamin Joseph Brazzel and Cora Bell Davis. Earlier in her life, Ruby spent 30 years with the Houston School District in Houston before moving back to El Dorado.

She was a devoted member of Hillsboro Street Church Of Christ. Giving to her church, and supporting charitable organizations and children’s homes, was extremely important to her. Ruby was also active with the church quilting club. She was a proud 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bonnie L. Fautheree; a brother, Hershal Brazzel; and three sisters, Hortence Frisby, Zelma Tucker and Berdelle Hux.

She is survived by five nieces, Judy Lord of Pasadena, Texas, Barbara Hux of Weatherford, Texas, Annette Hux and Dianne Gonzalez, both of Houston, and Wanda Faye Hugeons of Springdale; her longtime companion, dear friend and caregiver, Shirley McDuffie; and her co-workers.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. today at Perry’s Funeral Chapels.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the chapel with Bro. John Fields officiating. Burial will be in Caledonia Cemetery.
