Geraldine A. Patterson, 84, of El Dorado, died on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at her home following a sudden illness.
Born on July 31, 1930, in Oak Grove, La., she was the daughter of George E. and Audry Smith Witherington. A homemaker, Geraldine was a member of the Calion First Baptist Church and loved to hunt and fish. Geraldine was an artist and dollmaker and was active in the South Arkansas Arts Center.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jarvis Witherington; and a sister, Alline Kelley.
Survivors are her husband of 62 years, James L. Patterson, of El Dorado; a daughter, Mitzi Ann (John) Thompson, of Junction City; grandsons, Jonathan W. (Audrey) Thompson, of Birmingham, Ala., and Justin S Thompson, of Junction City; great-grandson, William Elliott Thompson, of Birmingham, Ala.; and a sister, Katherine Brady, of El Dorado.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 this evening at Young’s. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors with the Rev. Nick O’Nale officiating. Interment will follow at Beech Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
