Shirley C. Palmer, 86, of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
She was born Aug. 27, 1928, to Clem and Sally M. McGuinty Davis in Wilmar. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she worked as church secretary before her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband of 56 years, Robert C. Palmer; son, Robert A. “Tony” Palmer; and daughter, Robin Simmons.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Paula Andrews of El Dorado; five grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and son-in-law, Steve Simmons of El Dorado.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, at Young’s Funeral Directors of El Dorado.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m., Friday, July 3, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Kimball, the Rev. Gary Glasgow, and the Rev. Bob Endel officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s.
