Laura Marie McKinnon, 88, of El Dorado, passed from this life on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. Laura was born on July 14, 1926, in Strong, to Henry Thomas Hendrix and Julia Rosie (Jones) Hendrix.
Laura was a retired assembly line worker for Prescolite, serving 20 years before her retirement in 1991. Laura attended Parkview Baptist Church in El Dorado and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whom will be greatly missed by all.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester McKinnon; two sisters, Cleo Watkins and Eleanor Johnson; two brothers, Aceie Hendrix and Harvel Hendrix.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, James R. “Jim” McKinnon and his wife, Sara, of Magnolia; three grandchildren, Brent McKinnon and his wife, Melissa, of Hebron, Ky., Jessica Stone and her husband, David, of Magnolia, and James Michael McKinnon, of Magnolia; seven great-grandchildren, Macey Westfall, Brody McKinnon, Chaney McKinnon, James Michael McKinnon Jr., Lindy Westfall, Colby McKinnon and Jon Stone; one sister, Zelda Garner, of El Dorado, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 2-4 this afternoon at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday at Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City with Bro. Ken Overton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Life Touch Hospice for their sincere care for Mrs. McKinnon during her stay.
