Velma Ringo Burns, 83, of Camden, and formerly of Downsville, La., went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 7, 2014.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holmesville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George M. Burns; her parents, Bob and Murtie Ringo; and one sister, Gladys Estelle Frisby.

Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Shirley Sawyer and her husband, Thomas G., of Hamburg, Barbara Sturdivant and her husband, Frank Randall, of El Dorado, Wanda Beckham and her husband, Harold, of Farmerville, La., and Lisa Amerson and her husband, Mark, of Camden; one sister, Faye Snearly her husband, Vernard, of Downsville; four beloved nieces, Diane, Linda, Sherrie and Carlynn; nine grandchildren, Michael, Dralon, Gina, Damon, Cole, Tasha, Jeremy, DeLaine and Brandon; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Jerry Whitman officiating. Burial will be in Holmesville Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Damon Sturdivant, Cole Sturdivant, Jeremy Amerson, Mitch Amis, Dralon Sawyer, and Cody Chelette. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Sawyer.

The family will gather at Wanda and Harold Beckham’s home.
