Ernest Webb “Big Boy” Sutherlin, 93, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.

He was born March 8, 1920, to Ennis Byron and Catherine Elizabeth Webb Sutherlin in Naborton, La.

He moved to Norphlet at a young age. His father was the first mayor of Norphlet. He retired from American Oil after 26 years. Ernest loved living in Arkansas and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping and generally being in the outdoors.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Erma Porter, Claire Keene, and Artie Kelley; and three brothers, Dick, and G.W. Sutherlin, and his twin, Ennis Sutherlin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Nina Sutherlin of El Dorado; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Barber (Richard) of Little Rock; son, David Michael Sutherlin (Glenda) of El Dorado; two grandsons, Heath Sutherlin and Sheldon Miller; one granddaughter, Katy Barber; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
