Thomas Franklin Blagg Jr., 81, of El Dorado, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born Oct. 14, 1931, to Thomas F. and Joy Davis Blagg, in El Dorado.

Tommy served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Associated in the petroleum transportation industry, he was in ownership or executive management for 50 years.

Tommy was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, a member of the El Dorado Masonic Lodge #13, and he was a Shriner and Jester.

Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant grandson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Una Evelyn Boyle Blagg, of El Dorado; three daughters, Margaret “MeMe” Evelyn King, of Phoenix, Ariz., Hollis Ann Matheney (Bart), of Austin, Texas, and Joy Ellen Matthews (Donald), of Bossier City, La.; sister, Jacquelyn Barfield, of Winser, La.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 tonight at Young’s.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Walker officiating. A reception will follow the services. There will be a private family burial under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Serving as pallbearers are Alex Matthews, James Matheney, Thomas Matheney, Ryan Miller, Mark Hawkins and Zachary King. The honorary pallbearers are Tom Baumgardner, T. M. Byrd, Dennis Shackleford, Doyle Barentine, Will Vance, Gerald Cook, James Cook and the Builders Sunday School Class.
