Estelle “Tiny” Ballard Simmons, 97, of El Dorado, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation.

Born on Jan. 27, 1916, in Strong, she was the daughter of Ben Ballard and Artie Black Ballard. She was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Crossett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, James Edgar Simmons; four brothers B.J. Ballard, ‘Shorty’ Ballard, Sam Ballard and Curley Ballard; her twin sister, Barnell King; and sister Etris Langley.

Survivors are a daughter, Nell Stanley, of El Dorado; a son, Leon (Janice) Simmons, of Conroe, Texas; granddaughters Donna (Danny) Kick, of El Dorado, Karen (Pete) Redstone, of Bella Vista, Leann King, of Lewisville, Texas, Heather (Jeff ) Detchman, of Battle Ground, Wash.; a grandson, Britt (Tracey) Simmons, of Claremore Okla.; a sister, Ernestine Ballard Walton, of El Dorado; her faithful friend and visitor Harold Rowan, of El Dorado; 13 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. today.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Youngs Funeral Directors with Dr. Benjy McCann and the Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park near Crossett.
