Wanda Fayne Collins, 91, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. 

She was born June 4, 1921, to Lovin F. and Jewel Hunt Cheek in Gurdon.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and encouraged her children in all that they did. She was a talented seamstress and also active in her children’s activities. She loved her home and made it a happy dwelling place. She was also extremely proud of her grandson.  Wanda was the former manager of the El Dorado Racquet Club, a substitute teacher for the El Dorado School District, and was of the Presbyterian faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Fred Kenneth Collins; and two sisters, Pauline Cone and Frances Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Collins; son, Richard Collins, both of Rogers; grandson, Christian Dumas of Arkadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Young’s.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with the Rev. Bob Inmon officiating.
