Lloyd Kenith Burson Sr., 80, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at his home.

He was born July 14, 1932, in Kilgore, Texas. He was a retired oil field consultant, a Navy Korea veteran and a member of First Baptist Church in Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Burson and Alma Elizabeth Bounds Burson; grandson, Jason Lee Oliver; brother, Jerry “Bud” Burson; and sisters, Margaret Allen and Doris Hansen.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Burson of Hampton; three sons, Lloyd Kenith Burson Jr. of Hampton, Billy Delton Burson and his wife, Sandy, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Kelly Lee Burson and his wife, Melissa, of Hot Springs; one daughter, Linda Diane Oliver and her husband, J.D., of Hampton; one brother, Jack Burson of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.††

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hampton with the Rev. Clint Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Ground Cemetery under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
