TED S. KELLEY
Ted Shelton Kelley, 88, of Mount Holly, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at Life Touch’s John R. Williamson House following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 28, 1923, in El Dorado, he was the son of Hiram Owen and Vera Fite Kelley.
Kelley retired as a foreman after 25 years with Columbian Carbon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 4th Infantry Division in the Aleutian Islands. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Medal with campaign star, American Defense Medal with campaign star, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and was a member of the El Dorado VFW.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were his wife, Annie Mae Ponder Kelley; a brother, Harold Kelley; sisters, Mary Dale Kelley and Vera Kelley Parker Fite; and sons Ted Larry Kelley, Mike Owen Kelley and James Shelton Kelley.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Bricklen of Mouny Holly; and eight grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be announced at a later date.
