High and dry: Drought conditions drag on

The American flag at Quality Lube gently waves from a hot breeze as the outside temperature reads 103 degrees on a local bank sign on Friday afternoon. The dry and hot conditions will continue as temperatures will stay around the 100 degree mark for the days to come.
Markedly low precipitation and extreme high temperatures continued into June across the state, giving Arkansans more reason than usual to sweat as the region plows on through its second drought year, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, La.
