Escaped inmate apprehended

Officers with the El Dorado Police Department secure Earnest Armstrong on the ground along Martin Luther King Boulevard after a brief foot chase on Thursday afternoon. Armstrong, a Union County inmate, escaped during work detail at the Union County Shop on Tuesday.

A Union County inmate trusty who walked away from his work detail earlier this week is now back in the Union County Jail.

El Dorado police apprehended 49-year-old Earnest L. Armstrong, of 723 1/2 S. Smith, following a brief foot chase just before 6 p.m. on Thursday.
