SELMA GARNER
Selma Garner, 93, of Houston, and formerly of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Cypress, Texas.
She was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Huttig, to the late N.P. and Lula (McCloud) Impson. Selma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Quentin Garner; son, Larry Garner; two brothers, Telford Impson and Chester Impson; and one sister, Betheral Craven.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Rod Garner and his wife, Laurie, of Houston; one daughter, Sharon Kincaid and her husband, Michael, of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Courtney Shows; eight grandchildren, Troy Garner and his wife, Lane, Kelli Unkle and her husband, Jeff, Brian Garner, Ashley Porter and her husband, Holland, Melissa Anderson, Tol Kincaid and his wife, Cindy, Michael Kincaid, Don Kincaid and his wife, Diane; and nine great-grandchildren, Courtney Porter, Ella Garner, Miller Garner, Cara Kincaid, Bret Kincaid, Travis Kincaid, Alex Kincaid, Jennifer Smith and Thomas Kincaid.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at First United Methodist Church in El Dorado with the Rev. Jim Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
