Reports linking Louisiana State University’s Les Miles to an alleged $27.5 million offer from University of Arkansas have been dashed with the extension and raise of Miles’ LSU contract.
According to Arkansas News, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva released a statement touting Miles’ record.
“Les Miles is one of the premier coaches in the country and has LSU in contention for championships year in and year out,” Alleva wrote. “Only two coaches in the 119-year history of LSU football have coached as many years at this school and only one has won more games. Les Miles has made a commitment to LSU and LSU is solidifying its commitment to Les Miles.”
Arkansas has yet to replace the recently outed John Smith, who replaced Bobby Petrino earlier this year after Petrino was fired for not disclosing an intimate relationship with a female employee in violation of an ethics clause within his contract.
