Rice ousts incumbent Thompson

With 78 percent reporting in Union County, it appears Mike Rice may have ousted incumbent John Thompson for the El Dorado Ward 1, Position 1 race.

According to unofficial results, Rice took 59.3 percent to Thompson’s 40.6 percent.

Tom Cotton still leads for U.S. Congress District 4 with 56.9 percent. Statewide, he’s taking 58.1 percent with 21 counties partially reporting.

In Union County, Henry Frisby holds a lead over Bobby Poerce with 58.9 percent, however, with 59.8 percent to his opponent. Only two of the six counties involved have reported.

Locally, five ballot boxes are still outstanding.
