Nearly a year’s worth of struggles between El Dorado City Clerk Tony McKinnon and city officials came to a head today when McKinnon fulfilled a promise to resign if he couldn’t get a backlog of minutes completed before a November deadline.

The issues arose again in May when Hash and several city clerks again reprimanded McKinnon for continuing issue in the same vein and called for his resignation. Questions of his health came into play at the time and have continued throughout the battle between McKinnon and city officials.
