The wheels of election season keep on rolling with a series of political forums by the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber to encompass local and state candidates, according to a release from the Chamber.
Political action starts at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Forums scheduled include:
• 5:30 p.m., Matthew Shepherd and Sam Cyphers, State Representative District 6.
• 6:15 p.m., Cheryl Cochran-Wilson and Jane Andrews, Union County Circuit Clerk.
• 6:45 p.m., Mike Rice, El Dorado Ward 1 Position 1.
• 7:15 p.m., Billy Blann and Timothy Hill, El Dorado Ward 1 Position 2.
• 7:45 p.m., Willie McGhee and Benito Glosson, El Dorado Ward 3 Position 1.
John Thompson, the incumbent defending his El Dorado Ward 1 Position 1 against challenger Mike Rice, has informed the News-Times that due to a timing conflict he won’t be able to attend tomorrow night’s session.
County and state senate candidates will fill the night at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. Forums include:
• 5:30 p.m., Bobby Pierce and Henry Frisby, State Senate District 27.
• 6:15 p.m., Steve Ward and Mike Dumas, Union County Justice of the Peace District 1.
• 6:45 p.m., Justin Hendrix and John Wilson, Union County Justice of the Peace District 2.
• 7:15 p.m., Carolyn Jones and James Thomas, Union County Justice of the Peace District 5.
• 7:45 p.m., Dewayne Worth and William Crowder, Union County Justice of the Peace District 8.
• 8:15 p.m., Don Traylor and Tim Foster, Union County Justice of the Peace District 10.
