The remnants of Hurricane Isaac, including rain and wind, are beginning to impact Arkansas, according to the Entergy Storm Center which notes 947 outages in Union County as of 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Entergy, “Hurricane Isaac is beginning to impact Arkansas. It is a slow moving storm with heavy rain, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes which are expected to cause damages to the Entergy system. Entergy will begin assessing damage and restoring power as soon as weather conditions are safe for our personnel to work. Customer outage information will be updated on entergy.com as soon as we can safely assess storm damage.”
Union County falls only behind Chicot County in the number of outages statewide. Chicot County makes up 1,440 of the total 6,060 electrical outages across Arkansas.
The National Weather Service currently places Union County anywhere in the 5 to 9 inches of rain range.
