Local, federal investigators arrest 9 in sweep

Investigators with the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the El Dorado and Camden police departments and the FBI arrested nine out of 13 intended individuals in a countywide sweep on Wednesday, according to a UCSO release.

Wrapped up cases included an incident of aggravated animal cruelty in which Joseph Estabrook, 28, of 1986 Morning Star Road, was arrested after his two dogs discovered in dire condition earlier this month and more than $22,000 in copper thefts from the old GP Sawmill, 5482 Junction City Highway.

UCSO and EPD SWAT were later called in when three suspects reportedly ensconced themselves inside a house in Huttig.
