Arrested over the weekend for his second DWI in four years, Stephens Superintendent Darrell Porter was suspended Monday night in a unanimous vote by the school board, according to the Camden News.
Though the Arkansas State Police confirmed his arrest during the past weekend, the school board had no comment on the matter and would not verify if the suspension was related to Porter’s arrest.
According to News-Times archives, Porter was formerly employed by the Smackover School District during his first arrest in 2008 for a DWI. He pleaded no contest in 2010 and became employed with the Stephens School District in April last year.
