The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery garnered $10 million more in this year’s ticket sales haul than the previous year’s at $474.1 million when the fiscal year ended on Saturday, according to unaudited numbers.
According to Arkansas News, the increase is due to a boosted number of sales for drawing games over scratch-offs, which aren’t as profitable.
Of the $464 million in sales counted in the 2011 fiscal year, $94.2 million went to fund scholarships for Arkansas students. This year’s scholarships haven’t yet been figured, Lottery Director Bishop Woosley said.
