Nearly 300 campaign contributions ranging from $15,000 to $300 were made by El Dorado individuals or companies during the 2012 cycle, according to The Center for Responsive Politics, which aggregates data compiled by the Federal Election Commission.
Top contributors included a Murphy Oil employee and a self-employed man who, respectively, made contributions to Mitt Romney’s campaign and the Republican National Committee.
Initially glancing at the data, it appears far more contributions were made to Republican candidates and the Republican till than those to the left of the line.
Overall, the database located 271 separate records for contributions from El Dorado to local, state and national campaigns for a total $317,736 to fund the political process.
More to come in a future News-Times.
What’s funny is there was only one direct Obama employer and her employment status.
