The Smackover Oil Town Festival is under way with a series of events to last through Saturday, according to the Smackover Chamber of Commerce website.
Friday afternoon will be highlighted by a watermelon eating contest, bingo, a cake walk, the announcement of the bass tournament winner and music from CS Dubb and Alize at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively.
Saturday events include:
7 a.m. — Poker run registration at Sumac Mart.
7 a.m. — Rib cook off.
7:30 a.m. — 5K oil run.
9 a.m. — Oil Town dog show.
9:30 a.m. — Drill bit throwing contest.
10 a.m. — Water slides.
10 a.m. — Kids corner.
10 a.m. — Turtle race.
11 a.m. — Rod wrenching contest.
11:30 a.m. — Casting kids contest.
12 p.m. — Tug of war.
12:30 p.m. — Pipe tote.
2 p.m. — Arm wrestling at amphitheater.
3 p.m. — Horseshoe registration, ages 8-16.
3:30 p.m. — Horseshoe pitch, ages 8-10.
4 p.m. — Horseshoe pitch, ages 11-16.
4 p.m. — Kids corner.
4:30 p.m. — Egg toss.
4:30 p.m. — Adult horseshoe registration.
5 p.m. — Adult horseshoe pitch.
5 p.m. — Duck race.
5:30 p.m. — Age of Man.
6 p.m. — Duck race and rib winner announced.
7 p.m. — Windstorm (R&B).
9 p.m. — Jason D. Williams (Classic Rock).
