Flooding and flash flood warnings continue through Union County where several roads are under water following 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday Wednesday.
Union County Judge Mike Loftin reported that areas on South Jackson, Parkers Chapel Road, Wesson Road, 19th Street at Greenbrier and the Silver Hill cutoff were covered with high water. He warned travelers to find alternate routes or stay home when possible.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office has not returned a call for comment yet, however the Arkansas State Police confirmed that they did respond to an accident around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 172. Union County deputies worked the accident.
