The Arkansas Lottery Commission voted today to cap the next commission director’s salary at $175,000, according to Arkansas News.
The maneuver will effectively put the new director at the top of the food chain at just above Chairman Dianne Lamberth of Batesville who earns $153,000 but not nearly at the almost-embarrassing $324,000-mark alloted to former Director Ernie Passailaigue, who resigned in September 2011 under a hail of issues raining down on the lottery.
Interviews will begin Saturday and Sunday and finish up on Feb. 20, the commissioners said.
It’s about time. Heck, next we’ll be paying animal control $5,000.00 a month. Oh, yeah, we are.
