Members of the Union County Sheriff’s Office, search and rescue teams and emergency medical technicians are currently searching the area surrounding Griffith Trailer Park after receiving a 9-1-1 call from a man who said his horse fell on him and now he can’t get up.
According to UCSO Chief Deputy Clark Burton, when searchers couldn’t immediately locate the man they pinged his cell phone and still came up with a location in Griffith Trailer Park.
Searchers will now focus on the wooded area surrounding the park, he said.
UPDATE (5:50 p.m.): Burton confirmed that rescuers found the man after he went to a residence on his own. He opted to seek medical treatment for his injuries without assistance from EMTs on site.
