The trial for Joseph Lee Ford Jr., charged with aggravated robbery, is off to a start this morning with jury selection.
As of 10:45 a.m. 14 jurors of the 109 who answered the call to be a juror were dismissed. According to Circuit Clerk Cheryl Cochran-Wilson, 124 were called originally.
Of the 14, six had previously been part of a jury pool in the last two years, three were dismissed with pressing business this morning, two approached the bench and were excused for unannounced reasons, one was dismissed for a felony conviction, one was unable to let what he read in the newspaper go and one was related to the defendant.
