In what will likely amount to either a wrongful termination or an equal employment opportunity case, Former Huttig Chief of Police Byron Sartor filed a civil suit earlier this week against Huttig Mayor Tony Cole.
The suit was filed on Dec. 12 and is likely related to Sartor’s August termination for his migraine headaches, which Cole said were too debilitating for the city to have to be responsible for.
Marjorie Rogers, of James Law Firm in Little Rock, has represented Sartor in the past and explained that the termination for this reason is not only a breach of Sartor’s contract, it’s also illegal.
Calls have been made but no word yet from Rogers nor Cole. More in tomorrow’s News-Times.
ADA is more likely.
