Heads up to any pet owners who’ve recently purchased any of three dog food brands coming out of Missouri: The company just put out a recall on the products, stating they contain high levels of the fungus toxin aflatoxin.
According to the Associated Press, no illnesses have yet been reported, however, anyone who has purchased 50-pound bags of Dog Power Adult Maintenance Formula 21-12, Dog Power Hunters Formula 27-14, and Dog Power Hi-Pro Performance Formula 26-18 is urged to return them to the store for a refund.
Customers should check labels for packaging codes K0004 through K1322.
Advanced Animal Nutrition of Thayer, Mo., said the products were distributed in Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. The fungus can lead to severe liver damage and in some rare cases death.
