After inadvertently shooting a cannonball sky-high only to have the projectile smash through a neighboring house and come to stop in a nearby vehicle, Mythbusters hosts traveled to California to apologize to the victims whom law enforcement officials say only narrowly escaped injury.
According to various news reports, Seema Shetty was napping in her bedroom with her 2-year-old son when the cannonball shot through their residence and eventually came to a rest in Satwinder Gill’s minivan where the woman said he husband and son had been only minutes before.
Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara had reportedly been testing to see if the cannonball fired from a stone cannon could breach a castle wall at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Regional Training Center, according to AOLTV.com.
An angry neighbor hinted in a comment to the San Francisco Chronicle that he may be considering a lawsuit.
For his part though, Adam Savage, one of the show’s hosts, said the entire incident is a “wake-up call” and tweeted that he would be returning to San Francisco to discuss ways to prevent further accidents in the future.
