With closures threatened to a number of rural post offices nationwide — Mount Holly’s included — the U.S. Postal Service will meet with Little Rock lawmakers next month to determine the future of its services.
The financial troubles associated with fewer letters mailed originally only bolstered the cost of stamps but has now forced the strapped postal service to study some 3,600-plus rural post offices nationwide.
According to Arkansas News, 179 of Arkansas’ 589 post offices could face the chopping block.
