Officials broke ground in Drew County this week on a leg of the future Interstate 69 corridor set to pass through Arkansas on its trip from the Mexican border to Canadian border, according to Arkansas News.
Only 185 miles and $3.6 billion of the entire $30 billion project will be in Arkansas, running from U.S. 278 East to U.S. 425 South. The entire 2,700-mile length of I-69 is one of six “Corridors of the Future” highway officials determined in 1993.
