As of noon today only 20 people have early voted so far in the November special election that will allow voters to decide whether to renew more than $575 million in highway bonds for state road improvement, said Union County Clerk Shannon Phillips.
Early voting began today at the Union County Clerk’s Office and will run every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Nov. 7. There will be no voting during the weekend.
Election Day will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the regular polling sites.
And that is exactly what they wanted. Few people ever vote in special elections especially on issues that aren’t well discussed or understood.
