During the first day of his trial, Jeremy Perdue, 24, pleaded guilty to a reduced sentence of first-degree murder and aggravated residential burglary.

In accepting the plea, the state took the capital murder charge and the potential death penalty off the table.

Perdue was sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for Murder I, and 20 years in the ADC for aggravated residential burglary. The sentences are to run concurrently, however, because Perdue has priors he will have to do the full 40 years in prison.
