Mike Huckabee supporters are flocking to an online petition to persuade the former governor to throw his hat into the ring for the 2012 presidential election.
The petition addresses the Huck directly, telling him, “Our country is at a critical point and I believe you are the leader we need. Your vision for restoring America’s greatness resonates with me and I hereby pledge to support you for president in 2012.”
Continuing, the petitioner pledges, in addition to his or her vote, to donate as much money as possible until the day Huckabee announces, continue to donate after the announcement, become involved in laying state groundwork for the campaign, utilize social networking to spread the message nationwide, and be an active volunteer in the campaign.
Many petitioners have posted comments decrying the Republican candidates who’ve already announced their candidacies — particularly Mitt Romney who seems to get the majority of their ire — and plead with Huckabee to reconsider his decision to keep his name out of the ring.
