The investigation into the death of 37-year-old Brian Williams at the Union County Jail about two months ago is still progressing but could wrap up soon with a meeting with the 13th district judicial prosecuting attorney, UCSO Chief Deputy Bill Hickman said today.
“I have got this file, I’m fixing to review it, I’m going to meet with the investigators this evening and we’re going to talk about if anything else needs to be done, what else needs to be done,” he said. “I’m going to review the whole file and then depending on the results of our meeting, we may have a meeting with the prosecutor to discuss our investigation and what went on prior to him coming in the jail.”
Hickman couldn’t release further information today and was unsure when the investigation would be complete but imagined “it won’t be long.”
