State Sen. Gene Jeffress today became the first Democrat to put his hat into the race for the fourth congressional district seat Rep. Mike Ross will vacate in 2012.
In announcing his candidacy, Jeffress joins Republicans Beth Anne Rankin and Tom Cotton who said earlier in the summer that they would seek Ross’ seat shortly after he announced he wouldn’t seek a seventh term in the House, according to Arkansas News.
