Drug arrests, federal indictments conference at 3 p.m.

Law enforcement professionals from across Arkansas will hold a press conference today at 3 p.m. on the steps of the Union County Courthouse United States Courthouse in regards to more than 35 arrests and 10 federal indictments connected to drug trafficking, firearms offenses and gang activity.

Operation Street Sweeper took place this morning and yielded seven arrests in Union County by the United States Marshals Service — all for drug-related crimes, according to jail listings under the Sheriff’s Office Management System.

    Well if they are on federal charges at least they won’t get that silly smarter sentencing program.
