Johnson & Johnson, the same company famous for its no more tears baby shampoo — for which it last year faced a lawsuit concerning its allegedly cancerous ingredients — will soon enter the courtroom again following a suit by Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel that stipulates the group mis-marketed its anti-psychotic drug Risperdal.
According to Business Week, J&J just finished up fending off federal criminal charges when it received word of McDaniel’s suit which contends that the company defrauded the state’s Medicaid program by failing to list out completely the medication’s health risks and for marketing Risperdal as safer and better than competing medicines.
Risperdal is apparently linked to diabetes and has been argued by state attorneys as illegally marketed for use in children and the elderly.
